Salman Khan's lookalike and his body double Sagar Salman Pandey have passed away. According to a Bhaskar reporter, Sagar died while working out in the gym. Sagar was 45-50 years old and has been his body double in Salman Khan's films since 1999. Sagar started his career with Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, after which he has worked in 50 films.
This has been confirmed by Salman Khan's second body double Shantanu Ghosh in a conversation with Bhaskar. He said, Sagar was working out in the gym and suddenly collapsed.
Shantanu further said Salman Khan's fans become our fans, in such a situation we also need to be fit like him. If we were common people then staying fit would have been an option for us, but we are Salman's body double, so it is our responsibility to stay fit like him.
Sagar was immediately taken to Hindi Hriday Samrat Balasaheb Thackeray Trauma Care Municipal Hospital located in Jogeshwari East, Mumbai. There the doctors told after saying that Sagar had died even before reaching the hospital.
During an earlier interview, Sagar had told that he is facing a financial crunch due to the closure of work during the lockdown. The main sources of Sagar's earnings were acting and stage shows, but due to the lockdown, the shooting of all the films came to a halt and the events were also cancelled.
In an interview, Sagar had told that he too was a bachelor like Salman Khan. Sagar had 5 brothers and Sagar used to bear their expenses.
Sagar is from Pratapgarh Uttar Pradesh and came to Mumbai years ago to become a hero. When he did not get work in films, he started working as a body double. Sagar's career as a body double started with the 1998 film Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. After this, Sagar has become Salman's body double in films like Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Tubelight, Dabangg, and Dabangg 2. Sagar has acted in 50 films till now.
