RSS got permission from Madras High Court for a street movement: to be organized on October 6, a contempt petition was filed against government officials
The Madras High Court of Tamil Nadu has allowed the RSS to conduct path movement in the state on 6 October. The court has issued directions to the Tamil Nadu Police in this regard. Earlier, the RSS was going to organize a path movement in the state on October 2, but the state government did not allow it.
On this, the union had filed a contempt petition in the High Court against senior officials of the state government including the Home Secretary. The petition was filed by R Karthikeyan, Joint Secretary of RSS's Tiruvallur.
Justice GK Elanthiraiyan of Madras High Court gave this decision while hearing the matter. The court said that the police should allow the RSS to hold a rally on October 6. Along with this, the court said that the officers who violate the order will have to face contempt action.
Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi and the Left parties were also going to rally in the state on the day of the RSS path movement. The court had also refused to allow them to take out the march.
