Rohit jangid , the Jaipur who is fondly known as Rohit jangid , has won accolades and praise across the country after being the first person from North India to make it to the national Wushu (Or Kungfu, a hard and soft martial art) team, the youngster from Rajasthan is now all set to participate in the ‘World Pro Wushu Sanda’ fight in Thailand which starts from 2022
“The speciality of Pro Wushu is that we can’t chest guard and headgear, but only glow. It is more challenging and tough as compared to the Amateur Wushu. Participants from different countries are set to meet in Thailand and hence it is going to be very important. I have been training for this tournament from Jaipur and delhi Prior to this, Rohit won the silver medal at the South Asian Wushu championship in Nepal in the year 2021.
“I am also now preparing for the India-Pakistan Challenging championship”, added. Rohit is currently training under Indian Wushu coach and Guru vashisht award winner Rajesh tailor.
The Jaipur native will be competing in the 65kg category. Rohit could be the only participant in the tournament. Rohit started his career in Wushu and kick boxing and slowly moved towards Wushu while he was a ninth -standard student in Jaipur.
“I was a good wushu Fighterr back then. Since it was not a well-known game and lnot much supported by the government, I chose to prove my calibre in Wushu. I am from a middle class family and our earnings were purely from self defence classes by school’s . Even now we continue the same job as I treasure
and respect the job a lot.
