Rohit and Kohli out of top 10, Jaiswal and Pant jump, see latest Test rankings
ICC Test Rankings: Pant scored a century against Bangladesh while returning to Test cricket after a year and a half. He has benefited from this century and has once again come in the top 10. He is in sixth place with 731 rating points.
ICC released the latest Test rankings of players on Wednesday. In this, Indian captain Rohit Sharma and former captain Virat Kohli have faced a huge loss. At the same time, there is a gain for the left-handed batsman Yashasvi Jaiswal. Yashasvi has entered the top-5. He is at the fifth position with 751 rating. Yashasvi played an innings of 56 runs while making a half-century in the first Test against Bangladesh in Chennai. He is currently the highest-ranked Test batsman of India.
The century in return to Test cricket after one-and-a-half years helped wicketkeeper batsman Rishabh Pant benefit from this, as he once again comes in the top 10 lists. He is at No 6 with 731 rating points. Pant scored 39 runs in the first innings of the Chennai Test and 109 runs in the second innings of the match against Bangladesh.
While Kohli proved to be a complete flop in the first Test. Due to which he has lost five places in the ranking. He has reached 12th with 709 rating points. At the same time, Rohit has also slipped five places to reach 10th place with 716 rating points.
England legend Joe Root is number one with 899 rating points. Former New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson is in second place with 852 rating points. New Zealand star all-round Daryl Mitchell is in third with 760 rating points, while former Australia captain Steve Smith has taken fourth place with 757 rating points.
