Robotic surgery machine reached Jaipur; Training of doctors will start next week

A robotic surgery machine arrived at Jaipur's SMS Hospital today. Training of doctors will be started from next week on two machines that have come for General Surgery and Urology Department. The company's personnel will reach in SMS to give training for this. This training will be given on a simulator machine and a doctor will be given training of about 50 to 60 hours.
According to Dr. Rajeev Bagrahatta, Principal of SMS Medical College, after installing the machine and training the doctors, doctors will be sent to Chennai or Cochin for practical training. This decision will be taken on behalf of the company, where the company's machines are already installed. In this practical training, patients will be taught to perform surgery inside the hospital.
Doctors will be trained in different batches. After the completion of all these procedures, we expect that the work of robotic surgery for patients will start in the middle of April. He told that currently, the rates of laparoscopic surgery are under the Chiranjeevi scheme. We will keep the same rates for robotic surgery. Through this, diseases can be covered by Chiranjeevi and get free treatment.
Dr. Jeevan Kankaria, Professor of General Surgery at SMS Medical College, told that with these robotic machines, surgery for cancer tumours, colorectal surgery, bariatric surgery, hernia, achalasia cardia and other diseases will be done. These surgeries can be done not only easily but also in less time. He told that if doctors become experts in doing this surgery after training, then its results will be better than laparoscopic surgery and normal hand surgery.
