Kolkata doctor case: The father of the female doctor who was raped and murdered in the RG Kar case has appealed to the CBI. The woman doctor's father has requested the CBI in a letter to the CBI that the CBI should also keep the CCTV footage of the hospital safe.

The father of the doctor who was slain and sexually assaulted in RGKar Medical College and Hospital last month has filed an appeal with the CBI. The father of the deceased has asked the CBI to investigate if he spoke to his daughter over the phone in the final hours of her life. The call logs from their phone should be securely stored by the agency.

In a letter, the father of the female doctor asked the CBI to ensure that the hospital's CCTV footage was kept secure. particularly the CCTV footage taken on August 9 on the seminar hall floor, where his daughter's body was discovered. According to a CBI source, the father of the deceased wrote to us and asked that we preserve the call records.

The central agency official said that the letter, along with the status report of their investigation into the rape-murder case at the hospital, was shared with the Supreme Court during the hearing on September 17. In the two-page letter, the father expressed his "concern" over the investigation into the mystery of his daughter's death. He has also requested the CBI officials to recover the duty chart to find out who was on duty with his daughter on the night of August 8.

In the letter, the parents had also told the CBI that several interns and doctors of the hospital may be involved in the crime. A day after the woman doctor was found dead on August 9, the Kolkata Police arrested a man in the case. On August 13, the Calcutta High Court ordered the Kolkata Police to hand over the investigation to the CBI, following which the CBI began its investigation.

On the other hand, a senior government doctor has been questioned in connection with the investigation of the case. Kolkata Medical College and Hospital's Medical Superintendent-cum-Vice-Principal (MSVP) Dr Anjan Adhikari was questioned by the CBI at its office in CGO Complex in Salt Lake. It is being said that the CBI officials found his phone number in the call list of Trinamool Congress MLA Sudipto Roy, after which he was called for questioning.
