Renault Duster will enter the new avatar on November 29, know when it can be launched in India

French auto giant Renault is preparing to launch the new Duster SUV for the global markets. The carmaker will unveil the 2023 Duster in Portugal on November 29. The new Duster, in its third generation iteration, will be the most powerful version of the SUV. Come, let us know about it.

The new Duster has been developed by Renault unit Dacia on the new CMF-B modular platform. The French carmaker is also expected to relaunch the Duster SUV in India. However, it may take a few more years to hit Indian roads. The company has not yet given any official information regarding this.

Let us tell you that Renault Duster was first launched in India in 2012 as a compact SUV. It was one of the first models in a category that had not seen models like the Hyundai Creta and others for a few years. However, declining sales figures forced Renault to discontinue the Duster SUV in April last year after being on sale for the last 10 years.

The new Duster with Renault badging will first be launched in South American markets, Australia and New Zealand. It is likely to be launched in Europe early next year with Dacia badging.

Under the hood, the French auto giant will offer three engine options. The 1.3-litre turbo petrol unit will be the most powerful Duster SUV yet. It is capable of generating power of 167.6 bhp. Among other engine options, Renault is expected to introduce a 1.0-litre petrol engine, capable of producing 109 bhp. It may also have a 1.2-litre petrol hybrid engine, which can generate power between 118 bhp and 138 bhp.

Before its discontinuation in India, Renault used to offer the Duster SUV with two powertrain options including a 1.5-litre petrol and a 1.3-litre turbo petrol. Transmission options included a five-speed manual, a six-speed manual, and a CVT unit.
