Remand Of Three Accused In Sonali's Death Case Ends, Sent To Judicial Custody

Goa Police on Friday produced three accused in court in connection with the suspicious death of Tik Tok star and BJP leader Sonali Phogat. Here the court has sent the three accused to judicial custody for 7 days. Sonali died a few hours after reaching Goa in August last. Sonali's death is seen from the point of view of murder.

According to news agency PTI, while probing Sonali's death case, Goa Police arrested her PA Sudhir Sangwan, partner Sukhwinder Singh, restaurant owner Edwin Nunes, and Dattaprasad Gaonkar, Ramdas Mandrekar, who supplied drugs to Nunes. A Panaji court sent them to judicial custody for seven days after the remands of restaurant owners Edwin Nunes, Gaonokar and Mandrekar were completed, a police official said.

Significantly, these three accused were taken on remand for five days by the Goa Police. He was produced in court on Friday after the remand was completed. Sonali Phogat and her accomplices had a party on the night of 22 and 23 August at Curley's restaurant, which is owned by Nunes.

Sonali Phogat, 43, a contestant of the reality show Bigg Boss and former Tiktok star, was brought to a hospital in North Goa district on the night of 23 August and has been declared brought dead. In the case of Sonali's death, both her associates Sudhir Sangwan and Sukhwinder Singh were accused of murder. Deputy Superintendent of Police Jeevba Dalvi had told that the investigation revealed that Sonali was given methamphetamine and some amount of this intoxicant was found in the washroom of the restaurant.
