The order highlights how unsafe driving practices like tailgating, poor lane discipline, and sudden swerving have also come under strict regulation.
Although the official penalty for it, as per the current traffic rules of India, is a fine up to Rs 5,000, in this country, a person driving a vehicle using a mobile phone can be fined up to 800 dirhams along with vehicle confiscation for the same violation.
In Dubai, turning a vehicle suddenly will also grant the police the leave to seize it for about 30 days. Such kind of driving may risk the life of others either as a driver or a pedestrian. Not driving according to the designated and dedicated lanes will lead to seizure of the vehicle for as long as two weeks. Likewise, parking the vehicle on the middle of the road will also bring the same penalty. Exemption will be given only in case of any breakdown in the vehicle.
