RBI Executive Director: P Vasudevan becomes new executive director, two more posts appointed

India's central bank appointed P Vasudevan as the new Executive Director of RBI last evening. He will take over his charge from July 3. He will have the responsibility of many three departments related to currency management. He will have the responsibility of currency management, corporate strategy, and budget department.
Prior to this, he was working as the Chief Manager in charge of the Department of Payment and Settlement System. Along with the head office of RBI, he has also worked in the offices of Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru.
An RBI release said that Vasudevan has also worked with banks in non-banking financial companies, payment and settlement systems. Along with this, he has also been a member of the faculty at Bankers Training College.
Vasudevan holds a master's degree in Information Systems Audit (CISA), Information Security Management (CISM), and FinTech (National University of Singapore). He is also a Certified Associate of the Indian Institute of Bankers (CAIIB) and an alumnus of The Wharton School.
Last month, RBI announced the appointment of two new executive directors. Dr. Rajeev Ranjan and Dr. Sitikantha Patnaik have been selected for this. , Dr. Rajeev Ranjan will serve as the Executive Director. He has been given the responsibility of the Monetary Policy Department (MPD). He will also work as a member of the RBI MPC.
Wherein, Dr. Sitikantha Patnaik has been given the responsibility of the Department of Economic and Policy Research (DEPR). He has been appointed as Executive Director.
