Gross negligence has been found in a CHC hospital in Rajasthan, wherein the body of a young man who was brought here on Wednesday night after committing suicide was mutilated by the rats. The body had been kept in a small room under the stairs as there was a lack of mortuary and deep freeze. Where the upper part of the body was open, the rats kept gnawing it all night. The wound near the nose and chin became visible in the morning, and relatives became angry. But the hospital staff sent them back after persuading and handing over the body after postmortem from the medical board.

The CHC's room where the dead body is stored is dirty and junk. After delivery, the umbilical cord and other dirt are also immediately placed in it. Due to this, the rats have made the room their home. The deceased remains in the same room due to the careless hospital administration. This has led to instances of dead bodies being gnawed sooner as well. A few days ago, a dead body cut by a train was also found to be gnawed by rats in a similar manner.

20-year-old Harsh Taylor, a ward two resident, was found dead. In his final year of a bachelor's degree, he lived with his grandmother. He killed himself on Wednesday night by hanging himself. When police arrived on the scene, they removed the body to CHC. Also discovered close to the dead body was a suicide note. In which it was written that 'Mummy Papa, please forgive me, I could not live my life the way I wanted to and could not even become a good son... sorry.'
