‘Ratan Tata gets Bharat Ratna’, Maharashtra Cabinet passes proposal
Ratan Tata Bharat Ratna: Ratan Tata, who was awarded the Padma Vibhushan in 2008, died last night in a Mumbai hospital at the age of 86.
On Wednesday, famous business tycoon Ratan Tata died at Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai. It has been decided by the Maharashtra Cabinet to recommend the name of the late industrialist for India's highest civilian award 'Bharat Ratna' to the Central Government. During the cabinet meeting on Thursday, the proposal has been passed.
As per the received information, in today's state cabinet meeting led by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, homage was paid to veteran industrialist Ratan Tata. CM Shinde presented a condolence motion in regard to that in the meeting. A resolution was also passed on the occasion requesting the Center to confer Padma Vibhushan Ratan Tata with Bharat Ratna for his achievements.
At the age of 86, Ratan Tata, the Honorary Chairman (Chairman) of Tata Sons, the largest group in India, passed away on Wednesday night. In 2008, he received the Padma Vibhushan.
Industrialist Ratan Tata's body is being held for the final darshan, where tribute is being offered, at the NCPA lawn in Mumbai. The police band honoured Tata as his body was being transferred from his home to the NCPA lawn. At Worli Crematorium in Mumbai this evening, he will be cremated with state honors. His funeral will be attended by a number of well-known national figures, including Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
