Rashid Khan created history in T20 cricket, broke Bravo's world record

26-year-old Afghanistan bowler Rashid Khan has made history in T20 cricket. Rashid is now the most wicket-taker in T20 cricket, having broken Dwayne Bravo's record of 631 wickets when he bowled out Dunith Wellage in the SA20 Qualifier-1 between Paarl Royals and him on Tuesday. After winning for his team, Rashid mentioned that it was a big achievement. I did not even dream about it 10 years ago when I was asked if I could make it to this level. To have come from Afghanistan and to stand at a position where you're at the top of the board, is a matter of pride for me. DJ (Dwayne Bravo) is one of the greatest bowlers in T20 cricket. It is an honor and I hope to go on and make it even larger.

Rashid Khan first played a T20 in October 2015. Today, he is nearly 500 games and a fan favorite in leagues worldwide. He won an IPL title and a title in the PSL and alone in Adelaide in terms of having played 69 games for the Strikers. In between, his career-best 6 wickets for 17 runs

The ability to bowl fast in the air has made Rashid a very difficult bowler. Especially when it is difficult to figure out which way the ball will turn. He did not give the batsmen any time to settle down. Eventually, teams started playing him without taking too many risks. He has taken four or more wickets 20 times, but his biggest quality is that he can always keep the opposition batsmen under control.

In an interview with Cricket Monthly last year, Rashid said that taking wickets was not his priority. If someone goes after me, I make it very difficult for him. If he still hits it, it's a good shot, but I don't ease up. It's about making things even more difficult for the batsman.

Rashid has played in the Hundred, CPL, and BPL, and his batting has also improved. His all-round talent was also on display in the IPL 2018 playoffs when he scored 34 runs off just 10 balls to take Sunrisers Hyderabad to a score of 170 and then took 3 wickets for 19 runs and took two catches to help his team win. An indication of how impactful Rashid can be is that his current IPL team Gujarat Titans has retained him for Rs 15 crore.
