Rainfall from the sky in Jaipur, waterlogging in many places; people's lives messed up
Heavy rain lashed many places, including the capital Jaipur, due to which some areas were waterlogged on Saturday. Due to heavy rains in the district since Friday night, many areas around Sikar Road and Jalmahal have been submerged. Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department has said that rain will continue in many areas of Jaipur and Bharatpur.
It has been raining heavily for the last two days in many places, including the capital Jaipur, due to which many areas were waterlogged on Saturday. Due to heavy rains in the district since Friday night, many areas around Sikar Road and Jalmahal have been submerged. In many other low-lying areas, people are facing a lot of trouble due to water logging on the roads. Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department has said that rain will still continue in many areas of Jaipur and Bharatpur.
Heavy rains lashed the district causing traffic jams on several roads, including the Jaipur-Ajmer highway, due to water-logging. Rainwater has accumulated at other places including Tonk Road, SMS Hospital Complex, B2 Bypass, Jawahar Nagar, and Vidyadhar Nagar. Jaipur collectorate recorded maximum rainfall of 158 mm, while Nokha in Bikaner received 84 mm of rain during the last 24 hours in the state, the Meteorological Department said.
Rajasthan's Food and Civil Supplies Minister Pratap Singh Khachariawas visited several rain-affected areas of the city and also gave necessary guidelines to the officials. At the same time, State Disaster Response Force Commandant Rajkumar Gupta said that SDRF teams are alert and are engaged in rescue and relief operations at many places.
Meanwhile, Jaipur recorded maximum rainfall of 16 cm, while Lalsot in Dausa recorded 12 cm, Rajsamand, Baran, Sikar 9, 8 and 7 cm respectively.
