Udaipur: Udaipur's DST has seized a huge consignment of fake ghee in a major action based on an input. The fake ghee trader has also been arrested. About 1500 kg of fake ghee has also been seized from the spot.

Udaipur Police and Police DST conducted a raid on a fake ghee factory in the Kaladwas area of RICO on Umrada Road, about 11 km from Udaipur city today morning. When the team went there, it was found that fake ghee was being made there in the name of many well-known company names. Two individuals have been arrested by Police in this context. Police conducted a factory operation in the RICO Industrial Area and seized a huge quantity of fake ghee. Police reported that 1500 kg of fake ghee had been recovered from the factory basement.

Food Safety Officer Ashok Gupta explained on the spot that owner Lokesh Jain used to take out some quantity of real ghee from here and after that used to add soybean, Dalda, and essence and pack it in boxes. He explained that we came here with Hiranmagri police. 1500 kg of ghee have been recovered in this operation here. In this, 15-15 and 1-1 kg tins of Nova and Saras brands were being packed and Krishna and Amul were being packed in 15-15 kg tins.

According to the information, 1 kg and 15 kg tins were being packed here by putting labels of famous brands Nova, Saras, Krishna, and Amul. Deputy Chhagan Purohit said that the owner of the factory is Lokesh Jain, a resident of Salumbhar, and two people working here have been detained from the spot, and are being questioned. Police said that fake ghee had been made here for a long time.
