Rahul Gandhi was on a private tour of Goa, returned to Delhi with a puppy of Jack Russell Terrier breed

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi returned to Delhi on Thursday after completing his personal visit to Goa. Rahul Gandhi has also brought a three-month-old Jack Russell terrier puppy with him from Goa. Let us tell you that Jack Russell Terrier is a breed of dog. Dogs of this breed are intelligent and are known for their keen sense of smell.
Rahul Gandhi reached Goa on Wednesday and returned on Thursday with one of the two puppies as only one dog per passenger was allowed on the flight.
Shivani Pitre, who runs a dog house with her husband Stanley Braganza in North Goa's Mhapsa town, said Rahul took a puppy with him. He told that Rahul has chosen another puppy, which will be sent to him later. Rahul reached Goa on Wednesday night and returned to the national capital on Thursday morning.
Sharvani Pitre and her husband, Stanley Braganca, said they were overjoyed when they first received a call from Gandhi's office inquiring about the availability of Jack Russell Terriers, which they immediately accepted.
On Thursday, the Congress leader met the Braganca family in Mapusa, North Goa.
Pitre said that he (Gandhi) is a humble and down-to-earth person. He talked to us like a friend.
Pitre said that these are a special breed of hardy dogs that have a very good sense of sight and smell and are also very active dogs with a long life.
He said it is the same breed of dog that was recently awarded a medal by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
Zelensky at a formal ceremony rewarded Patron, a Jack Russell Terrier, with helping to sniff out landmines laid by Russian forces retreating from the territory annexed by Ukraine to Russia.
Breeders have previously supplied dog breeds to eminent personalities such as Azim Premji and celebrities such as Kareena Kapoor.
In Goa, the Congress leader also met state Congress leaders, including Leader of the Opposition Yuri Alemao and Goa Congress President Amit Patkar, among others.
