Indian star shuttler PV Sindhu's journey has ended in the Paris Olympics 2024. Two-time medalist Sindhu had a chance to score a hat-trick of medals at the Olympics. But in the pre-quarterfinals, Sindhu lost in straight sets to sixth seed Bing Jiao of China and her dream of winning three consecutive Olympic medals remained a dream.

The match between Sindhu and Jiao lasted 56 minutes. During this, the Chinese player defeated her 19-21 and 14-21. This is the 12th defeat of Rio Olympics 2016 silver and Tokyo Olympics 2020 bronze medalist Sindhu against Bing Jiao in 21 matches. With this, Bing Jiao also avenged her defeat against the Indian player in the bronze medal match at the Tokyo Olympics.

PV Sindhu is the fourth Indian shuttler to be eliminated from the Paris Olympics. Before her, the journey of HS Prannoy, Satwiksairaj Rankireddy, and Chirag Shetty has ended.
