According to reports, the Basalt SUV went into series production prior to its market launch. The Citroen Besalt will be powered by a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine that delivers 110 horsepower, similar to the C3 Aircross. It will be offered with both manual and automatic transmissions. The Basalt, with its sloping roofline, will receive some additional features over the C3 hatchback and C3 Aircross SUV.
The Citroen Basalt SUV was showcased as a nearly production-ready version just a few months ago. This SUV coupe will be around 4.3 meters long and will be built keeping in mind the upcoming Tata Curve, which will also have a similar body style.
Also, the upcoming Basalt is being considered as a slightly different-looking alternative to popular midsize SUVs like the Creta, Seltos, Grand Vitara, Hyrider, Taigun and Kushaq, and even Citroen's own C3 Aircross SUV.
