Priyanka Chopra wrote on her social media account - "A young girl named Mahsa Amini who was killed by the Morality Police of Iran just because she was not wearing the hijab properly, today in support of that innocent girl all over the world including Iran. Women are raising their voices, cutting their hair in public as well as protesting in many other ways. The voices that were silent till today will erupt like a volcano in the times to come."
Praising Iranian women in her post, Priyanka further wrote – I admire your courage and passion, putting your life at risk is not an easy task. You are courageous women who are fighting to the death every day. In her post, Priyanka has appealed to the people sitting in the government to try to understand the problems of those women who are leaving everything and participating in this movement. Through her post, Priyanka has appealed to the people to join this movement in maximum numbers so that such campaigns can be strengthened in the future.
The Morality Police of Iran arrested Mahsa Amini for not wearing the hijab properly, after which she died in police custody. Police said that Mehsa died due to deteriorating health. On the other hand, if the locals are to be believed, then Mahsa's death was not due to deteriorating health but due to a police beating.
