Principal of Assam College drinks liquor on campus, video goes viral; students protested fiercely

A video of its principal at Assam's Dhemaji Commerce College, along with four others, drinking alcohol on the campus went viral. After which the students protested on Saturday.

The college students' union and the RSS-affiliated student body ABVP protested after college principal Deepak Krui. Neog and four others were found drinking alcohol on campus property, claiming that their actions violated the sanctity of the learning environment.

The students claimed, "Major news outlets in Assam were showing our principal and four others drinking alcohol in a room inside our college campus."

They asked, "We want the principal to take responsibility for his actions, otherwise we will not come to class because what will our students learn from such behavior?"

The student union claimed that the principal has defiled the sanctity of the institute and they are demanding action against him.

Meanwhile, the principal of the college was not available to comment on the incident. A senior government official in the state education department said they are looking into the matter.
