Priest's body found hanging: 2-page suicide note found, names of blackmailers in it

The body of Saint Basavalingeshwara of Sri Kanchugal Math in the Ramanagara district of Karnataka was found hanging in the worship room on the day of Diwali. Kudur Police has found a 2-page suicide note from this room, in which Swami Basavalingeshwara has written the names of those who blackmailed him. Police say that due to this, Swami has committed suicide.
Swami used to wake up every morning at 4 in the morning for worship. On October 24, when the door of the room did not open till 6 in the morning, the employees got suspicious. He called Swami several times and knocked on the door. After this, some people reached the window at the back of the room, from where they found Basavalingeshwara hanging from the grill of the window. After this, the police were informed about it.
Police have registered a case of abetment to suicide. The police will interrogate the accused on the basis of the names mentioned in the suicide note. Officials say that these people were in constant contact with the priest of the monastery over the phone.
Basavalingeshwara took over the reins of Math in 1997. A few months back his followers also celebrated the Silver Jubilee celebrations. This monastery built in Kempupura of Magadi taluk is about 400 years old. After the police investigation, the last rites of Swami Basavalingeshwara were performed on Monday evening.
About two months ago, the body of Basava Siddalinga Swamy was found at Sri Guru Madivaleshwar Math in Belgaum, Karnataka. When the disciples opened the room of the monastery, Siddhalinga's body was hanging from the noose. There were speculations that he was upset over his name appearing in audio related to sexual abuse at Lingayat Math.
