Preparations to evacuate Indians stranded in Israel, Operation Ajay started, special flight will leave today
Operation Ajay for Israel: India has announced Operation Ajay for Indian citizens stranded in Israel. It will start today. Indians will soon be brought back through this operation.
After the attack on Israel by Hamas terrorists, citizens of many countries are trapped there. All the countries are trying to evacuate their people from there, similarly, India is also trying to evacuate its citizens stranded there. Meanwhile, the Indian government on Wednesday announced the launch of 'Operation Ajay' to help its citizens stranded in Israel return home. "Special charter flights and other arrangements are being arranged," External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said in a tweet on a social media platform.
Let us tell you that in the horrific terrorist attacks of the Hamas organization from the Gaza Strip area in southern Israel last week and the subsequent Israeli retaliatory action, there have been thousands of casualties from both sides. Israel has currently banned regular flights from there.
Air India has suspended its regular flights after the conflict broke out there. Meanwhile, the Indian Embassy in Israel has said in an email that the first Indian citizens from here will return to India tomorrow on a special flight.
These citizens had registered their names for return. The Embassy has informed them about the return arrangements by email. Other such registered Indian citizens will later be sent to India by other special flights.
According to an estimate, currently, around 18,000 Indian citizens are in Israel. It may take some time to remove them from there.
