Recreations of the crime scene in a case of the murder of an old woman in Pali over robbery were carried out on Sunday. During this, the accused in the murder case told the police station Rani how he killed the old woman by strangling her with a dupatta. The accused had murdered the 60-year-old woman of Pali by strangulating her with a dupatta used to feed fodder to loot her jewelry.

It is worth mentioning here that on December 2, the body of 60-year-old Balki Devi, who had gone to the forest to take cattle, was found in semi-naked state in bushes near Itandra Mertiya village of Rani police station area of ​​Pali district. The gold ornaments worn in the ears of the deceased were missing. As soon as the news about the incident spread, anger brewed among the villagers, family members of the deceased, and the community. The angry people started a sit-in protest in Nadol Hospital on the morning of December 3.

Their demand was that the post-mortem of the deceased's body would not be done until the accused of the murder was arrested. Even after the persuasion of the police and administrative officials, they did not agree and this protest continued till Thursday. Finally, on Thursday evening, the family agreed to get the post-mortem done but gave an ultimatum to the police to catch the murderer in five days and warned of a sit-in protest outside the Pali Collectorate.

The police, engrossed in unfolding this blind murder, finally linked the dots and on Friday apprehended 20-year-old Rakesh son of Dargaram, resident of Intdara Medtiyan village. In interrogation, he confessed to killing the old woman, looting her jewelry, and hiding it by digging a pit on the river bank. On this, the police arrested him and also recovered looted jewelry on his information.

On his information, police also recovered the dupatta and bike used by them in the crime. Later he was produced in court. From there, he is sent to a three-day PC remand, " Rani Thana SHO Pannalal Said that Rani Thana police reconstructed all of the crime scenes from 24 years old killing of a young woman on Sunday.
