PM Modi will launch Mega Recruitment Drive today: Will give appointment letters to 75 thousand youth, target to provide 10 lakh jobs by 2023
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch the Mega Recruitment Drive at 11 am today. Appointment letters will be handed over to 75 thousand of youths during the function. During this, the PM will also interact virtually with these youth. Through the recruitment drive, the target is to provide jobs to 10 lakh youth in one and a half years i.e. by December 2023.
These appointments will be in 38 ministries and departments of the central government. All these recruitments are being done through UPSC, SSC, Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) and other central agencies. The Prime Minister took this decision in June this year after reviewing the manpower in the Ministries/Departments.
At present, 23584 posts are vacant in Group A (Gazetted) category, 26282 in Group B (Gazetted) category, and 8.36 lakh posts are vacant in Group C non-gazetted category. In the Ministry of Defense alone, 39366 Group B (Non-Gazetted) posts and 2.14 lakh Group C posts are vacant. 2.91 lakh Group C posts are vacant in Railways and 1.21 lakh posts are vacant under the Group C non-gazetted category in the Ministry of Home Affairs.
Under this mega job campaign of the PM, Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Railways, Department of Posts, Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Labor and Employment, Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), Customs and Banking, Armed Forces personnel, all Jobs will be given to the selected youth from across the country in 38 departments including Inspector, Constable, LDC, Steno, PA and Income Tax Inspector.
Union ministers from across the country will also participate in the programme. Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan from Odisha, Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya from Gujarat, Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur from Chandigarh, Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal from Maharashtra, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav from Rajasthan, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman from Tamil Nadu, Industries Minister Mahendra from Uttar Pradesh Pandey will attend. At the same time, Arjun Munda, Minister of Tribal Affairs from Jharkhand and Giriraj Singh, Minister of Panchayati Raj from Bihar will also attend.
Last year, Union Minister Jitendra Singh told the Parliament that 8.72 lakh posts were lying vacant in the central government departments till March 1, 2020. There are a total of 40 lakh 4 thousand posts in the central government departments, out of which 31 lakh 32 thousand were filled. A total of 2 lakh 14 thousand 601 employees were recruited in SSC during 2016-17 to 2020-21. Also, RRB has appointed 2 lakh 4 thousand 945 people. At the same time, UPSC also selected 25 thousand 267 candidates.
