People of Noida, be careful! 'Yamraj' hits the streets, this is not the afterlife but this is its purpose
In view of road safety, November is being celebrated as Traffic Month to make the general public and drivers aware by running a campaign to prevent road accidents and deaths.
According to religious scriptures, Yamraj has been called the god of death. After the physical body is destroyed the person's soul is presented before Yamaraja. After this, depending on the deeds of the person, he is sent to heaven or hell. These days he is seen on the streets of Noida. In fact, in view of road safety, November is being celebrated as Traffic Month to make the general public and drivers aware by running a campaign to prevent road accidents and deaths. Gautam Budh Nagar Traffic Police also conducted an awareness campaign at many places on 16th November and the people of the Traffic Department were seen on the roads posing as Yamraj and making people aware. Along with this, a total of 5253 challans were issued at different places.
Traffic rules were given to the general public and drivers at Phase-2, Nangla, Parthala, North Eye Chowk, Sector 52 Metro Station, Garhi Roundabout, and Chhijarasi by the Road Safety Cell of the Traffic Police through LED display on vehicles. Awareness was created to follow them. Also, through traffic street drama, common people and drivers were gathered and informed about traffic rules and made aware to follow them.
Along with this, by running a joint campaign with the Assistant Divisional Transport Officer near Sector 37 and Mahamaya Flyover, 10 buses were seized taking effective action against passenger vehicles that were out of fitness (double decker) and vehicles carrying more passengers than their capacity (overloaded). Seizure and e-challan action was taken against 59 vehicles. Also, without helmet 3279, without seat belt 156, opposite direction 367, three riding 58, use of mobile phone 31, without DL 58, faulty number plate 73, red light violation 84, no parking 509, and other 333 challans were issued.
Also, while taking action under GRAP (against BS-3 and BS-4 petrol vehicles), noise pollution 29, air pollution 59, BS-3 and BS-4 209 i.e. 5253 total e-challans were issued and traffic fines were issued. A total of 23 vehicles were seized for violating rules.
