The International Cricket Council (ICC) is going to start the Champions Trophy tournament once again. The last edition of this tournament, known as the Mini World Cup, was played in 2017. Where Pakistan defeated India and won the title. The next edition of this tournament will be played in 2025. Pakistan is officially hosting it.

In such a situation, there have been suggestions that India may refuse to travel to Pakistan and, like the Asia Cup, would want to play the event in a hybrid format. However, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has suggested hosting the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 fully in Pakistan and has stated that it will not contemplate a hybrid format for India's matches during the Champions Trophy, such as the Asia Cup 2023.

The PCB stated that Team India will have to travel to Pakistan to compete in the Champions Trophy 2025, which it is hosting. At the same time, the BCCI states that the Indian squad cannot be sent to Pakistan without authorization from the Indian government. In such a situation, there is still doubt over Team India's visit to Pakistan. The PCB has proposed to the ICC to organize the Champions Trophy from 19 February to 09 March. All the matches of the tournament will be played in three cities Karachi, Lahore, and Rawalpindi.

During the Asia Cup 2023, all the matches of India were held in Sri Lanka. But the PCB said that for the convenience of the Indian team, all its matches can be organized in Lahore. In such a situation, Team India will not need to go to many cities.

Pakistan is preparing to host its first international cricket event after the 1996 World Cup. The Champions Trophy is an ICC event, so it will not be easy for India to refuse to send its team to Pakistan. But if India refuses to go, there can also be discussions for a hybrid model in the ICC Champions Trophy. India-Pakistan matches can be transferred to neutral venues like Abu Dhabi and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
