Passenger tried to open the plane's emergency gate

In the US, a passenger on a flight going from Los Angeles to Boston tried to open the emergency gate. When the crew member tried to stop him, he attacked. The incident is on Sunday. This passenger from Massachusetts was arrested at Boston Logan International Airport. He has been banned from travelling on any flight of the airlines.
On a United Airlines flight, Francisco Severo Torres, 33, tried to open the emergency gate between the first class and coach sections about 45 minutes before landing. Then the crew got its alert in the cockpit. After this, a flight attendant reached the emergency gate for investigation. There he found the door handle was not fully closed and its emergency slide was also removed.
After questioning Torres, the attendant asked the captain to land the flight as soon as possible. Meanwhile, Torres attacked the attendant with a broken spoon. He stabbed her 3 times in the neck. Torres was brought under control with the help of crew members and passengers. The flight then landed safely at Boston Airport, where Torres was arrested.
Passengers on the flight reported that Torres had been behaving strangely since take-off. He was repeatedly asking about the emergency gate, door handle and safety. He was also seen roaming around the emergency gate several times.
Torres will appear in court on March 9. If the charge is proven, he can be sentenced to life imprisonment. With this, a fine of more than 4 crores can be imposed.
