Said in the National Assembly on Saturday, after Pulwama, India decided to impose a 200 percent duty on imports from Pakistan. India also suspended Kashmir bus service and trade. According to the Pakistani daily Dawn, Dar was replying to a question by Pakistan Peoples Party MP Sharmila Farooqui. He had sought information about the trade challenges facing Pakistan's relations with neighboring countries, especially India.
Dar, who also holds the post of Foreign Minister of Pakistan, said, that we are constantly advocating constructive and result-yielding talks with India to resolve all issues including Jammu and Kashmir. Now it depends on India to create a suitable environment for peace and dialogue.
In addition, India has consistently stated that it wants to have normal neighborly relations with Pakistan regarding this whole issue. However, Islamabad bears the responsibility of fostering an atmosphere devoid of violence and hatred in this regard.
Speaking to reporters in London in March this year, Dar had highlighted the eagerness of Pakistan's business community to resume trade activities with India. However, his office later clarified that Pakistan has no plans to restart trade relations with India. After the abrogation of Article 370 by the Parliament in August 2019, Pakistan relaxed relations with India.
