Pakistan: Police lathi-charged on Hindus protesting in Sindh, they were protesting due to kidnapping

Protests by Hindus, troubled by anarchy, kidnapping, and ransom demands, continue in Pakistan's Sindh province. Police brutally lathi-charged Hindus protesting on Wednesday over the deteriorating law and order situation and ransom demand following the abduction of a businessman and his son in Kashmore district. Many people were seriously injured due to this.

People's anger against the police for failing to rescue the kidnapped businessman and his son about 25 days ago from the Katcha area of Kandhkot is coming out in the form of a protest. On Wednesday, the police lathi-charged the Hindus protesting in Kashmore. In the video circulated on the internet media, many people were seen bleeding from the head to the neck.

Local press reporter Balach Dashti said that over a hundred people have been abducted in the area in the past five months. There are both Hindus and Muslims in it. A large number of Hindu businessmen live in the Kashmore district. These are easy targets for bandits.

Pakistan's Acting Religious Affairs Minister Aneeq Ahmed said on Thursday that the country is constantly making efforts to increase the number of Sikh and Hindu pilgrims from India. Ahmed said that there is an agreement between India and Pakistan for the arrival of 7,500 Sikh and 1,000 Hindu pilgrims every year. However, the number of Indian pilgrims has decreased in recent years due to the weakening of bilateral relations.
