In the Asif Ali Zardari-led Pakistan People's Party (PPP), which is part of the ruling coalition, opposing voices have started emerging among the leaders on the issue of the dissolution of assemblies. Along with the National Assembly, the term of the Sindh and Balochistan Assemblies is also due to end in August.
Earlier it was said that the PPP has agreed to prematurely dissolve the National and Sindh assemblies. But senior party leaders are against the decision and have asked the top leadership to reconsider the move. Sources privy to the developments said that delaying the election would hurt the PPP. Democracy will be strengthened by the completion of the term of the assembly.
