Pakistan defeated New Zealand by 26 runs in the third ODI played in Karachi. Along with this, they have taken it in their possession with a 3-0 lead in the 5 ODI series. The series of 5 T20 matches played earlier was tied at 2-2.
Batting first in the third ODI, Pakistan scored 287 runs at the loss of 6 wickets. In response, the entire New Zealand team was all out for 261 runs in 49.1 overs. New Zealand won the toss and decided to field first.
Pakistan did not start well. The first blow to Pakistan was on the score of 37 runs. Opener Fakhar Zaman was dismissed by Matt Henry in 8.2 overs, caught by Tom Blundell. He scored 19 runs in 26 balls.
After the dismissal of Fakhar Zaman, there was a 108-run partnership between Imam-ul-Haq and Babar Azam. Babar scored 54 runs in 62 balls. On the other hand, Imam-ul-Haq played an inning of 90 runs in 107 balls. Apart from these, Mohammad Rizwan scored 32 runs and Agha Salman scored 31 runs for Pakistan.
Matt Henry was the most successful bowler for New Zealand. He took 3 wickets for 54 runs in 10 overs. And Adam Milne took 2 wickets for 56 runs in 10 overs.
Chasing the target of 288 runs, New Zealand got off to a good start. Opener Will Young and Tom Blendle shared an 83-run partnership. Will Young got out after scoring 33 runs off 41 balls.
Darryl Mitchell, who came to bat after him, was also dismissed after scoring 21 runs off 24 balls. Even after Young, Blendle was also run out after scoring 65 runs. Captain Tom Latham handled the innings after Blendle and Young. He scored 45 runs in 60 balls.
Cole McConkey handled the innings after Latham. But they could not get along from the other end. Maconi remained unbeaten on 65 off 45 balls.
For Pakistan, Shaheen Afridi took 2 wickets by giving 53 runs in 9 overs, Naseem Shah took 2 wickets by giving 42 runs in 8.1 overs, and Mohammad Wasim Junior took 2 wickets by giving 50 runs.
