OpenAI launches Responsive API, developers will be able to easily create AI agents
OpenAI: This tool will allow developers to add a web lookup feature to their AI agents, allowing them to search and provide real-time information. OpenAI has developed it on the same model as its existing web search system. It is currently available in a preview version.

OpenAI made several important developer-focused announcements during a live stream on Tuesday. The San Francisco-based AI giant has introduced a new application programming interface (API) and an open-source software development kit (SDK) that will enable developers to create artificial intelligence (AI) agents and manage multi-agent workflows. Along with this, the company also previewed three new tools that will be part of the new Responses API and will help developers build software and apps with agentic capabilities.

Web Search Tool: With this tool, the developers can add a web lookup feature to their AI agents, and their agents can search and provide real-time data. OpenAI has developed it with the same model as its existing web search platform. It is now available in preview.
File Search Tool: It assists the process of information retrieval with the ease with which certain information can be found from vast documents. It is provided with functionalities like query optimization and re-rank customization.
Computer Use Tool: It is powered by the same model as OpenAI's Operator agent and helps developers create agents with the ability to perform various operations and graphical user interfaces (GUI) for the computer. It can be used for data input and QA testing, but the tool is currently available as a developers' preview for tiers 3-5.
