Even meteorologists are surprised by the severe cold in the Nilgiris. The mercury reached 1.3 degrees Celsius today (Sunday) in Tamil Nadu's popular hill station Ooty. Some people believe that the hill station has become a mini Kashmir.

People's normal life got disrupted due to the severe cold. A few days ago, there was light snowfall in Ooty City and surrounding areas. People are also facing health-related problems due to snowfall. Many people are affected by the problem of runny nose, cough and rash on hands and feet.

A few days ago, several videos surfaced on social media, in which it was seen that the grasslands spread far and wide in the Nilgiris looked like wetlands covered with dew drops. There was frost in many areas of Ooty including Ooty Nagar, Thalikunda, HPF, Kanthal and Fingerpost.
