With the commencement of the new education session 2023-24, the Department of Science and Technology, New Delhi has started the online nomination process for the Inspire Award Standard Scheme. Students will be able to submit their ideas online till August 31 for the academic session 2023-24. The scholarship officer in charge of the Directorate of Secondary Education has issued guidelines to all Joint Directors and CDEOs in this regard.
10-10 thousand rupees will be given to the students selected by the Department of Science and Technology, New Delhi for developing the innovative idea. Students have to upload their idea on the EMIAS portal. The students who will be selected under the Inspire Award scheme will have to display their idea through a model at the district level. 10% of the models at the district level will be selected for the state level. 10% of models from the state level will be selected for the national level.
The Inspire Award scheme was launched in 2010. In this scheme, students of classes 6th to 10th will be able to upload their ideas through the school. Candidates' age limit should be between 10 to 15 years. Each school can submit five ideas.
For the last three years in the Inspire Award scheme, Rajasthan has been in the number one position in online nominations. In the education session 2022-23, 1.65 lakh candidates from Rajasthan were nominated under the Inspire Award Scheme.
This scheme was started to increase the creativity of school students as well as to develop an interest in science. Apart from books, students get practical knowledge from this. A huge number of students from Rajasthan participate in this scheme every year.
