A unique case of its kind has come to light in London. A top police officer here made a policy against drugs, but the officer used to smoke ganja before breakfast. Actually, Julian Bennett of London was a senior officer of the Metropolitan Police. It was he who wrote the anti-drug policy in the city. Now a case is going on in the court against him for taking drugs and misbehaving.
Julian Bennett had been in the police force for the last 47 years (the year 1976). Bennett is alleged to have used marijuana and LSD for breakfast before starting work in the morning. Officer Bennett has denied all the allegations against him, but in the midst of it all, he was suspended in July 2021. He is also accused of not giving the necessary samples for the drug test.
Sheila Gomes, a nurse who shared her flat with Julian Bennett, who is facing three court hearings for misconduct, said the officer regularly smoked cannabis before going to work and having breakfast. The nurse also alleged that the officer's flat was often so full of smoke that it resembled an Amsterdam coffee shop.
Sheila Gomes has also told the court that she believes Officer Bennett was also a drug dealer. Gomes also claimed that Bennett was extremely controlling, anxious, and narcissistic. Nurse Sheila Gomes reported the allegations against the officer in July 2020, after which the investigation was started. Not only this, only three days after Gomes reported to the police, Bennett was asked to give a sample.
