Number of fraud calls have reduced; Government is planning to stop them forever
Due to these systems prepared by the government, the number of fake calls received by the people has been reduced to a great extent. Due to this, about 2.9 lakh phones have been disconnected and about 1.8 million headers have been blocked which were used to send messages. Such software has been installed. These software are blocking an average of 1.35 crore such calls per day.
The government is constantly working hard to keep people safe from ongoing fraud these days. The government has come up with a technical system to stop these fraudulent calls. Through this system, it will help to keep people safe from scammers. In a recent interview to PTI, Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia has said that the government's technical system is stopping 1.35 crore fraudulent calls daily, and it has helped people save Rs 2,500 crore so far.
In the interview, Scindia said that most spam calls come from servers outside the country. The systems are capable of blocking most of such fraudulent calls. Scindia said, "We have set up a system to deal with the number of marketing calls and fraudulent calls coming to your phone. The fraud detection network of the Department of Telecommunications has saved people's property worth about Rs 2,500 crore through Sanchar Sathi and Chakshu.
He said that due to these systems, the number of fake calls coming to the people has reduced. The Union Minister said that the government has installed a new software, in which it is integrating agencies as well as banks. 520 agencies have been included in this. All these agencies are emphasizing on creating a system with the government, which can keep the privacy and security of the people safe.
Scindia also spoke about BSNL. He said the main issues were launching Aatmanirbhar BSNL 5G by May and 4G to all under the saturation plan by April. Also, notifying all remaining rules under the Telecom Act 2023 by December is one of his priorities.
He said a plan was afoot to construct 1 lakh base stations for BSNL 4G and of these, construction of 50,000 towers was complete. By April-May next year, we shall install 1 lakh BTS which means we shall have our own domestic public-owned company that will launch 4G.
