NTPC Q2FY23 Result: Company's net profit was up 5.5% at Rs 3,331 crore in the second quarter, and revenue was up 40%
Government company National Thermal Power Corporation Limited (NTPC) declared the results for the second quarter (Q2FY23) ended on 30 September 2022 on Saturday (29 October). The company's net profit for the quarter grew 5.5% year-on-year to Rs 3,331 crore. The company's net profit stood at Rs 3,156.74 crore in the same quarter last year.
In the second quarter, the company's standalone revenue grew nearly 40% year-on-year to Rs 41,015.20 crore as against Rs 29,471.20 crore in the previous year. The company's operating profit (EBITDA) for the quarter increased by nearly 24% to Rs 9,521.60 crore.
NTPC's operating profit stood at Rs 7,723 crore in the same quarter last year. The company's operating profit margin (EBITDA margin) declined by 300 bps year-on-year to 23.2% from 26.2%.
NTPC said it has increased its power generation by 15% to 204 billion units in the first half (April-September) of FY 2023. Whereas in the corresponding period last year, the power generation was 177 billion units.
Let us tell you that before the results came, there was a rise in the stock of the company. On Friday (October 28), the company's shares closed at Rs 174.20 with a gain of 2.08%.
