Meta's most used instant messaging platform WhatsApp is introducing a new feature. This feature enables users to schedule group calls. Additionally, the feature allows users to manage and automatically alert all participants about upcoming group call events. Let's know about it.
WhatsApp has recently introduced the feature of screen sharing during video calls with its users. Meta's messaging platform has now rolled out a new feature that will let users schedule calls in group chats.
According to a report by WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is bringing the ability to schedule calls in group chats. This feature is available for Android beta testers. To use the feature, Android beta testers need to have the updated version 2.23.17.7 installed.
To schedule a group call, users need to tap on the call button. The user can then select the scheduled call date as well as the call subject. In addition, the group call type can also be selected, be it video or voice.
After scheduling a group call, an event will automatically be added to the group chat, and whoever decides to join the call will be notified 15 minutes before the group call starts. The feature is currently in beta mode and is expected to be available to all users soon.
After almost a few months, WhatsApp has introduced screen share functionality to its global user base. This feature enables users to share their phone and PC screen with others during a video call. However, it is important to note that some content may not be shareable, and WhatsApp has also implemented various security measures to ensure user safety.
Along with this, the company has also introduced landscape mode. Unlike portrait mode, landscape mode gives a wider and more detailed perspective of the video call interface. By enabling this feature, the call participants can see more persons on the screen at the same time, thus improving the video call experience.
