Now you can also permanently delete SMS; Google Messages coming up with new feature
Google: This feature will depend on the new update of Rich Communication Services (RCS), that is, it will work only on those devices that follow the new standards of RCS. Users who have an older version of the app will still be able to see the deleted message.

Google Messages is working on a new feature called "Remote Delete" that will allow users to delete messages that have been sent by mistake to everyone. Information on this feature has been found through an APK teardown. According to the report, this feature has been found in the beta app and will likely make it to the stable release shortly.
This feature is similar to that of WhatsApp and Telegram's "Delete for Everyone" feature. When you remove a message, it will indicate "Message deleted" in place of that. For it, you will have two options: Delete for Everyone and Delete for Me. This feature will be dependent on the new update of Rich Communication Services (RCS), that is, it will work on those devices that have implemented the new standards of RCS. The users with the previous app version will still be able to see the deleted messages.
This feature will be available for a limited time in Google Messages. According to the report, users will be able to delete a message for everyone only within 15 minutes of sending it. After 15 minutes this option will be disabled. This feature is currently in the development stage and has not been activated yet, although not every new feature is found in APK teardown and comes to the stable version. Therefore, Google Messages users should not expect much about this update right now.
