Now UPI payment can also be done with credit card

Now your credit card can also be linked with UPI. This will make the transaction much easier. Reserve Bank of India Governor Shaktikanta Das launched the RuPay credit card on the UPI network at the Global Fintech Festival. As of now, only debit cards and accounts can be linked to the UPI network. At present, three banks Punjab National Bank, Union Bank of India and Indian Bank have given this facility.
Punjab National Bank MD and CEO Atul Kumar Goel has said that no MDR will be charged for making UPI payments by linking credit cards with UPI. However, a small interchange charge will be levied. Information about how much this will have not been given yet.
RBI has also launched the UPI Lite service. This will be for low-value transactions which will work with the help of an on-device wallet. With the help of UPI Lite, customers will be able to make payments without the internet. With UPI Lite, up to Rs 200 can be transferred without the internet. Apart from this, the facility of cross-border transactions has also been started under Bharat Bill Payment System.
You have to first add the card to the UPI app. According to the Google Pay website, users can add debit and credit cards of banks from the app, provided they operate on Visa and Mastercard payment gateways.
According to the data of UPI payment by NPCI, in August, a total of Rs 10.72 lakh transactions have been done through UPI in the country. This figure is higher than in July. In July, a total of Rs 10.63 lakh crore transactions were done through UPI.
In August 2022, a total of 657 crores i.e. 6.57 billion times money was transacted through UPI. At the same time, in July, 628 crores i.e. 6.28 billion times UPI payment was done.
