The government extended the last date for updating Aadhaar to 14 September in June, which is now slowly coming closer. Now less than a month is left for 14 September. If you also have an old Aadhaar card of 10 years or above and it has not been updated even once during this time, then such Aadhaar shall have to be updated. You should get your Aadhaar card updated as soon as possible in such a situation.
The two most essential documents required to update your Aadhaar are: first, the identity card needs to be attested, and second is address proof. Basically, charges for the update of Aadhaar are usually Rs 50 at any Aadhaar centre, but as per UIDAI, till June 14, this service will go free. In that case, you can provide a PAN card as proof of your identity and a voter card for your address proof.
First of all, log in to the website of UIDAI from a mobile or laptop. Hereafter, click on the option update Aadhaar. Now log in by OTP by entering an Aadhaar no. After that, click document update and verify.
Upload the scanned copy of your identity card and address proof from the drop list given below. Now click on submit. After this you will get a request number and the form will be submitted. Also from the request number, you can check the status of the update. After a few days your Aadhaar will be updated.
