North Korea has kept the border closed since the year 2020 due to the severe Corona epidemic. Now North Korea is going to end this strictness. State media reported on Sunday that citizens living abroad have been allowed to re-enter the country.

North Korea had imposed several strict laws to overcome the disease during the Corona epidemic, out of which sealing the border was one. The State Emergency Epidemic Prevention Headquarters announced that "citizens abroad have been allowed to return home", local media KCNA said, according to the news agency AFP.

The report released by North Korea states that all people who have returned from abroad will be kept under proper medical observation in quarantine wards for one week. The released report said that the decision was made "in the context of the easing of the pandemic situation worldwide".

North Korea closed its borders in early 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic, but there are signs that the country is moving towards reopening the border. At the same time, Chinese and Russian officials participated in a military parade in Pyongyang last month, which is being told that this was the first foreign dignitary to visit the country after the Corona epidemic.
