Nitin Gadkari's ministry's 358 projects behind schedule: 111 in railways and 87 in the petroleum sector not completed on time
756 government projects in India are running behind schedule. In this, the maximum number of 358 projects are in the road transport and highway sector. This ministry is in the hands of Nitin Gadkari. Apart from this, 111 projects of railways and 87 projects in the petroleum sector are running behind schedule. News agency PTI has given this information quoting the November 2022 report of the Infrastructure and Project Monitoring Division.
There are currently 769 ongoing projects in the road transport and highways sector in India, out of which 358 projects are running late. At the same time, 111 out of 173 projects in the railways and 87 out of 154 in the petroleum sector are running behind schedule.
The Infrastructure and Project Monitoring Division monitors projects costing 150 crores or more in the Central Sector. This department comes under the Ministry of Statistics and Program Implementation. Its report revealed that the Munirabad-Mahbubnagar rail project is the most delayed, with a delay of 276 months.
On the other hand, in terms of delay, the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla rail project is in second place, which is running 247 months behind schedule. While Belapur, Seawood and Urban Electrified Double Line is the third delayed project. It is running late by 228 months. There are 1521 projects with a cost of 150 crores or more in this report.
