Nita Ambani, India's billionaire businessman and wife of Reliance Industries chief Mukesh Ambani, organized a function called 'Parampara' at the NMACC in Mumbai on the occasion of Guru Purnima. This ceremony was on the Guru Shishya tradition going on in India.

The event was inaugurated by Nita Ambani, Chairperson and Founder of Reliance Foundation and NMACC, paying respect to her mentor and father-in-law, Dhirubhai Ambani. Many big and famous artists participated in it, in which the names of Padma Vibhushan honored artists were also there.

Renowned sarod maestro Padma Vibhushan Ustad Amjad Ali Khan and his sons Amaan and Ayaan Ali Bangash as well as his grandsons Johan and Abir Ali Bangash performed at the NMACC at the festival. Also witnessed mesmerizing renditions by flutist Padma Vibhushan Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia and his nephew Rakesh Chaurasia as well as sitar maestro Pandit Karthik Kumar and his son Niladri Kumar.
A press release issued by NMACC said that the event was conceived to honor the rich legacy of classical maestros in Indian music.

Nita Ambani said that it has been my good fortune to meet gurus in my life who have guided me. During this, remembering his father-in-law Dhirubhai Ambani, he said that parents should be respected. Papa's (Dhirubhai Ambani) 21st death anniversary is on the 6th of July. He is still alive not only in our hearts but in the hearts of millions of Indians. I pay tribute to my father.

The event was held at the Arts Space of Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Center (NMACC), Mumbai. The capacity of this hall is to seat about 2000 people.
