Nishad Kumar, India's high jumper, won the silver medal at the Paris Paralympics. This Himachal Pradesh high jumper won the silver medal in the men's high jump T47 competition. He recorded his best jump of 2.04 meters, which is also his best jump of the season. Nishad attempted three times to touch the 2.08-meter mark but failed each time. At the same time, Roderick Townsend of the United States won the gold medal with a best jump of 2.16 meters, which matched his world record set in 2023.

Nishad and Roderick were the only athletes to cross the 2.00m mark at the Paris Paralympics, setting the stage for the gold medal battle with their season's best jumps. Both players missed their first attempt of 2.08m, but the American star cleared it in his second attempt to win the gold medal. Nishad, who gave his best performance, also failed in his second attempt of 2.08m and had to settle for the silver medal.

Ram Pal, another Indian participating in this event, failed to make it to the Paris Paralympics. He finished 7th with his best jump of 1.95m, which was equal to his personal best performance.
