Nimrat Kaur Draws Inspiration from Brad Pitt's 'Moneyball' for 'Sajini Shinde Ka Viral Video' Role
In the film, Nimrat portrays Bela Barud, a determined police officer leading the investigation to locate Sajini (played by Radhika Madan), a physics teacher who mysteriously disappears.
Mumbai: Nimrat Kaur, the talented actor, revealed that she found inspiration for her role as a flamboyant cop in the upcoming movie "Sajini Shinde Ka Viral Video" by channeling Hollywood star Brad Pitt's character from the 2011 film "Moneyball."
In the film, Nimrat portrays Bela Barud, a determined police officer leading the investigation to locate Sajini (played by Radhika Madan), a physics teacher who mysteriously disappears.
Kaur credited the film's director, Mikhil Musale, for aiding her transformation into this character. She also mentioned that Musale's playlist, featuring iconic German music composer Hans Zimmer's soundtracks, played a crucial role in her preparation for the role.

"I loved it (the role) because it gives me that flamboyance which I don’t have as a person. I'm kind of shy and I’m selective about my extroverted days. Her tough exterior overcompensates for her femininity, and she wants to hide behind her clothes. The reference was Brad Pitt from 'Moneyball.' I've a poster at home where Brad Pitt is sitting, and below it is written Bela Barud... He (Musale) has a playlist from Hans Zimmer to all kinds of kickass composers in the world. It (the playlist) was kicka**," said Nimrat Kaur in an interview with PTI.
In "Moneyball," Brad Pitt portrayed Billy Beane, the spirited general manager of the American baseball team Oakland Athletics, a role that earned him an Academy Award nomination.
On the other hand, Radhika Madan, who plays the role of Sajini, was guided to listen to Amit Trivedi's "Madhubala" song from his 2021 album 'Songs of Love' as a reference point for her character.
Mikhil Musale, the film's director, emphasized the importance of creating the right ambiance to help actors get into the right mood on set.
"Over the years and after three films, I've realized that sets are so chaotic, especially when you are dealing with so many characters. In our film, we have multiple characters, tracks, and moods. When an actor comes on a set, everything has to be in the direction to get the scene right. Music and the environment that you create are important," he said.
"Sajini Shinde Ka Viral Video" is inspired by a real-life incident and is a mix of various thoughts, opinions, and emotions.
The film boasts an ensemble cast, including Bhagyashree, Subodh Bhave, Chinmaye Mandlekar, Shashank Shinde, and Sumeet Vyas. Produced by Maddock Films, "Sajini Shinde Ka Viral Video" is set to hit screens on Friday. PTI KKP.
