The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has filed a charge sheet against a person of the banned Popular Front of India (PFI) in Nizamabad, Telangana.
An official said the agency has so far filed chargesheet against 16 accused in connection with the criminal conspiracy by PFI to recruit, radicalize and train youth and Nossam Mohammad Yunus is the 17th accused in the case. According to the official, the NIA has taken action against all under the Indian Penal Code and Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.
An official said that the charge sheet against Nossam Mohammed Yunus has been filed in a special NIA court in Hyderabad. An agency spokesperson said Yunus is a trained PFI cadre who was carrying out violent terrorist activities to further the PFI's conspiracy to establish Islamic rule in India by 2047. During this time, he was engaged in inspiring Muslim youth and radicalizing them.
The NIA found that the accused was involved in recruiting youth from vulnerable sections and giving them arms training in PFI arms training camps, an agency spokesperson said. He said the accused was training in the use of lethal weapons to kill his 'targets' by attacking vital parts of the body like the neck, stomach and head. He further said that the accused has also been found to be actively promoting enmity between different religious groups in the country.
It is known that the police had registered an FIR in this matter last year. However, the NIA took over the investigation from the Telangana Police after a month and filed the first charge sheet against 11 accused in December last year and the second charge sheet against five accused in March.
