Jacob Oram appointed New Zealand bowling coach: Oram said, "The opportunities I have got recently have given me an idea of where this team is going and I am excited to continue working on it in the coming seasons."
Ahead of the India tour, New Zealand has appointed former all-rounder Jacob Oram as the bowling coach of the men's team. He will take charge on October 7. On his appointment, Oram said, "I am really excited to have the opportunity to rejoin the Blackcaps." He said, "It is truly an honor to rejoin a team that means a lot to me and has been a big part of my life."
Oram said, "The opportunities I have got recently have given me an idea of where this team is going and I am excited to continue working on it in the coming seasons." He said, "There is a new wave of talent coming into the Blackcaps bowling and I hope I can share my knowledge and experience with them to help them prepare in the best way for the challenges of international cricket."
Oram began his coaching career with New Zealand A in 2014 and later worked as a bowling coach for the New Zealand women's team in 2018. He was named Central Hinds' head coach last summer, and the team advanced to the Super Smash finals. Oram has also served as an assistant coach in the Abu Dhabi T10 and as MI Cape Town's bowling coach in the SA-20. In his international cricket career, he has played 229 matches for the New Zealand team. He has 4688 international runs to his name, including six centuries and 21 half-centuries. He has also bowled 252 wickets.
