Meta has been working on privacy and security for its multimedia messaging app WhatsApp for a long time. If we look at the last few months, Meta has introduced many privacy features for WhatsApp and now the company is working on another privacy feature.
According to a report by WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is working on a feature after which you will be able to lock the WhatsApp chats not only on the primary device but also on the linked device, that is, to view the chat of the linked device, you will have to provide the chat lock code.
WhatsApp already has this privacy feature, but it's limited to primary devices. It will now be accessible on all connected devices as well. The beta version of the new feature is presently being tested. In a few days, the update might be available.
Although it's not a guarantee that WhatsApp will be the first company to offer this service, a recent report claimed that WhatsApp's UPI payment would soon be supported internationally. Apps like PhonePe and Google Pay are used to offer these services.
