The CBI on Saturday arrested a mastermind and two MBBS students who allegedly worked as "solvers" in the NEET-UG paper leak case. The mastermind is said to be a B.Tech student of NIT-Jamshedpur.

News agency PTI quoted CBI officials as saying that with the latest arrests, the number of people arrested by the agency so far in six cases related to alleged irregularities in the NEET UG exam has reached 21.

According to Jagran, the information given by the agency, the two MBBS students arrested on Saturday are from a medical college in Bharatpur, Rajasthan. Kumar Mangalam Bishnoi, a second-year student, and Deependra Sharma, a first-year student, were present in Hazaribagh on May 5, the date of the NEET UG exam.

According to officials, both the accused were allegedly working as "solvers" for the paper stolen by an engineer, Pankaj Kumar, who has already been arrested. Officials said that Shashikant Paswan alias Shashi alias Pasu, a B.Tech (Electrical) pass-out from the National Institute of Technology, Jamshedpur, was working in connivance with Kumar and Rocky, who was also arrested earlier.
